AMMAN — The
first round of the
Jordanian Rugby League concluded on Saturday at the
University of Petra Stadium, and saw the participation of four teams from the
men’s 15 category and the women’s sevens category.

The league,
which was organized by the
Jordan Rugby Committee, returned this season after
an eight month hiatus. The leagues annual season consists of three rounds which
will be held throughout March.
The teams
participating in the league are: Nomads, Citadel, Saracens, and Sosroka clubs.
Among the men’s
competitions, Sosroka was able to lead the first stage of the league after
achieving two wins over Citadel (14–0) and Saracens (21–5). Citadel managed to
beat Saracens team (31–5).
For the women’s
category, Citadel defeated Sosroka team (31–5) before defeating Nomads (12–5),
while Sosroka beat the Nomads (27–0).
The matches of
the second round of the league will continue on Friday, March 18.
