AMMAN — Jordan ranked fourth
in the Arab world and 83 globally among 168 countries on the
2021 Social Progress Index, scoring 68.77 points in the general classification, according
to a report issued by the American non-profit Social Progress Imperative, and
carried by Khaberni.

The index, in its seventh edition,
is based on measuring basic human needs such as basic medical care, nutrition,
water, sanitation, and personal security, in addition to well-being, based on
12 pillars and 53 sub-indicators.
Jordan ranked 52nd in basic human
needs, 89th in basic welfare, and 107th in opportunities. It also ranked 96th
among 163 countries in GDP per capita, which amounted to $9,817.
In the health and care index, Jordan
ranked 41st, 60th in access to basic health services, and 54th in equal access
to quality health care.
