AMMAN--Jordan's electricity distribution companies (EDCs) began distributing the monthly electricity bills on Saturday with the new electric tariff that was introduced in early April 2022, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, announced eligible households, which are not registered on the newly launched e-platform kahraba.gov.jo, to benefit from electricity subsidies, should visit EDCs' offices to adjust the values of their bills for April for one time, and register to receive gov't-subsidized tariff. The bills' distribution today came according to the new electric tariff, after completing a study conducted by the concerned authorities, after reading electric meters, Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) announced. To date, the EMRC said the number of electric meters' readings has reached 308, 000, of which 177,000 are not registered on the gov't subsidy platform. Households, which are not registered so far will receive higher electricity bills in April, compared to last March, especially subscribers whose consumption exceeds 600kWh per month, urging them to register and adjust their bills according to the new tariff for April 2022 only, the EMRC noted. The number of household subscriptions amounted to about 1, 950, 000, of which 1, 013, 000 registered to receive gov't subsidy, the EMRC pointed out.   (window.globalAmlAds = window.globalAmlAds || []).push('admixer_async_509089081')   (window.globalAmlAds = window.globalAmlAds || []).push('admixer_async_552628228') Read More Traffic Department Distributes Masks to Passengers and Drivers of Public Vehicles Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization Continues Meal Distribution in Gaza King Offers Condolences by Phone to Lebanese President over Victims of Ordnance Disposal in Tyre
