Salameh said that well water prices are estimated at more than JD142 million.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation announced, on Sunday, that issuing the water bills will be on monthly basis as of the beginning of 2023, instead of every 3 months, according to Salama.
Salameh stated that the monthly bills came with the aim of reducing water losses; because in the case of quarterly bills (3 months), "there is a lack of water follow-up, and the water loss reaches more than 50 percent," and therefore the first goal is to reduce water losses.
Salameh explained that the Minister of Water and Irrigation told him that those who do not wish to pay the bill each month have the option to pay it every 3 months.
