AMMAN —
The
Jordanian Judicial Council (JJC) formed a committee, headed by the Attorney
General, to follow up on all the issues pertaining to its role in combating
human trafficking, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

The committee has
as members the secretary-general of the Ministry of Justice, the director
general of the Judicial Institute of Jordan, and the secretary general of the
JCC.
Secretary-General
of the JCC Ali Al-Musimi said on Monday that the committee will develop an
action plan for the council that includes the mechanism to follow up on cases
of human trafficking.
That, he said, will be done through continuous training
programs, strengthening and expanding investigation procedures, to collect the
largest amount of evidence, improving the quality of court rulings, activating
the role of the judiciary in identifying victims of human trafficking,
strengthening victim protection procedures during investigation and trial, and
expanding the use of tools offered through international cooperation in legal
and judicial assistance, as stipulated in international, regional and bilateral
agreements.
