Jordan will not renew contracts for foreigners working at municipalities — minister

AMMAN — Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan said that the work contracts of non-Jordanian street sweepers will not be renewed to give their jobs to Jordanians, Ammon News reported. Kreishan spoke on Tuesday during a field tour of the municipalities of Al-Khaldyah, Sama Al-Sarhan, Basilliyah, and Housha, where he also emphasized the need to place importance to local development in the 2023 budget. He urged mayors not to allow street sweepers to work in other municipal jobs, because their duty requires them to remain in the field.
