Jordan ranks 1st in Arab world for renewable energy contribution

AMMAN — According to the 2022 Arab Future Energy Index (AFEX), Jordan ranked first in the Arab world in of renewable energy contribution rate in 2021, excluding hydropower, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.اضافة اعلان

The ranking reflected the Kingdom’s leadership in the field of renewable energy.

It was announced in a dialogue session on Jordan’s achievements in renewable energy and energy efficiency, which saw the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The session was held in conjunction with the launch of the AFEX 2022 report, developed by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

The report highlights the status of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Arab countries, which are ranked in terms of their energy-related achievements.

During the session, Director of the Ministry’s Renewable Energy Directorate Yacoub Marar showcased the Kingdom’s achievements and future plans in the field.
