AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Industry’s (ACI) exports grew by 48 percent during the past 11 months of 2022, compared to the
same period last year.

According to data, ACI exports increased during the January
to November period 2022 to JD6.918 billion, compared to JD4.671 billion in the
same period last year.
Exports of all 10 industrial sectors recorded a growth
during the past 11 months of 2022, at a 100 percent rate for the mining
industries, and 3 percent for the construction, leather, and textile
industries, individually, ACI figures showed.
India, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq accounted for more
than half of ACI’s exports during the past 11 months of 2022, recording a value
of JD3.663 billion.
The chamber’s exports to top importer India, in the past 11
months of 2022, surged by 69 percent to reach JD1.416 billion, compared to
JD838 million in the same period last year.
On the other hand, ACI exports to the US in the same period
dropped by 5 percent, down to about JD903 million, compared to JD947 million in
the same period in 2021.
The ACI’s exports to Saudi Arabia increased during the past
11 months of 2022 by 32 percent, worth about JD690 million, compared to JD524
million for the same period in 2021.
The ACI’s exports to Iraq grew in the past 11 months of 2022
to about JD654 million, compared to JD494 million in the same period last year,
marking an increase of 32 percent.
During the same period, the chamber’s exports to Syria
recorded an increase of 37 percent, to reach about JD117 million, compared to
JD85 million in 2021.
In addition, ACI exports to Palestine went up during the
first 11 months of 2022 by 23 percent, to reach JD154 million, compared to
JD124 million in the same period last year.
