AMMAN — Director-General of the Jordan Development
Zones Company Arwa Al-Hiyari said that the Ajloun cable car began a trial
operation on Monday, according to Al-Ghad News.
During the trial, which precedes the official opening of the
project, employees of various governmental and official agencies in Ajloun,
including governorate, municipality, civil defense, tourism, and development
zones employees, will be able to use the cable car.
On Monday, for the first time since the construction of the
cable car system, locals and tourists can see all the completed cable car
cabins — 40 in total — on the cable car rope, which extends over a length of
2.5km from the first station in the Ishtafina forests to the second station
near Ajloun Castle, he said.
The cable car system will serve as “a new quality tourist
landmark that embraces the sky and forests of Ajloun,” Hiyari said.
