AMMAN — The Lower House Finance Committee began discussing the 2023 general budget draft law on Tuesday, with the government’s economic team present, local media outlets reported.

Meanwhile, the Lower House Public
Freedom and Human Rights Committee began discussing the issue of administrative
detention and overcrowding in prisons, while the House’s Economy and Investment
Committee was set to examine the draft law amending the Competition Law for the
year 2022.
The Lower House Tourism, Antiquities,
and Public Services Committee began discussing the strategic plan of the
Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the extent to which it is compatible
with the Economic Modernization Vision, while the House’s Administrative and Youth
Committees held a joint meeting to examine the issue of education in government
schools and schools designated for Syrian students.
In addition, the Lower House Energy
and Mineral Resources Committee examined precautionary plans for the rainy
season issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of
Local Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Public Works
and Housing, the Ministry of Transportation, the Greater Amman Municipality,
and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission.
