AMMAN — Clothing vendors and importers have complained over an increase in the appraisal value of clothes by the Jordan Customs Department, president of the Textile and Readymade Clothes Syndicate Sultan Allan said Saturday. اضافة اعلان

The syndicate cross-references all complaints and invoices received with previous appraisal values, stating that the receipts received had appraisal values ranging between 50–70 percent.

Allan stated that these values are “unacceptable” and “intolerable”, and are beyond what vendors and individuals are able to bear.

The syndicate, he added, “would not stand silent under the direct threat to vendors”.

The syndicate is expected to announce its position on the topic on Sunday after a board meeting, he added.
