People gather in front of the Swedish Embassy in Amman on
Monday night to denounce the burning of a Quran by far-right political leader
Rasmus Paludan outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on Friday. Paludan
committed the act under the protection of the Swedish police.

On Saturday, Jordan’s
Foreign Ministry stressed the
Kingdom's rejection and condemnation of the act, saying that the refusal of extremism, intolerance, and incitement to hatred is
a collective responsibility.
Fury about the incident swept through Arab countries, with foreign
ministries of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, and Kuwait also condemning the
act in separate statements, blaming the Swedish authorities for allowing it.
