Downpour is forecast to be heavy in
the morning hours, accompanied by thunder and hail, which could lead to the
formation of torrential rains in valleys and low areas, especially in the
northern regions, the JMD said.
The JMD also warned of slippery
roads in rainy areas and of low visibility due to fog over hilltops and plains.
In the evening, the rain will
gradually stop and the weather will become cold and very dry. Light rain
showers may occur at times between the night and dawn in the north and center,
while winds will be southwesterly moderate in speed.
Slight
rise in temperatures On Sunday, temperatures are expected
to slightly rise while still remaining around 3°C below annual average. Most
regions across the Kingdom will remain cold with partial cloudiness and there
may be a chance of light rain showers in the morning in the north.
On Monday, the Kingdom will be affected
by a cold and moist air mass centered over the island of Cyprus. This will result
in a significant decrease in temperatures.
By Monday afternoon, rain will start
to fall in the north and gradually extend to the central and southwestern
regions of the Kingdom.
Temperatures in Amman today would
hit 6°C, dipping into 3°C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a
fair 19°C, sliding to 10°C at night.
