AMMAN
— The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) has sent seven new truck
convoys of relief aid to victims of the recent earthquakes in Syria. This move
is part of the organization's efforts to assist those affected by natural
disasters in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
and the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.

The
Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported that JHCO is implementing Royal directives
and preparing to send two land convoys to Syria in the coming period, as well
as a relief plane to Turkey.
The
aid will be according to “the lists of needs received from the two countries,
to be delivered to UN organizations in Syria and Turkish authorities", the
JHCO said in a statement.
So
far, more than 970 tonnes of aid have been sent. They included family tents,
generators, baby formula, foodstuffs, winter clothes and footwear, and medical
supplies, among other items.

According
to JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli, more land convoys will be dispatched
to Syria and relief planes to Turkey.
In-kind
donations are accepted, with the organization receiving specific items based on
the list of needs provided, which changes according to the demand.
Shibli
said his organization is keen to give a helping hand and provide assistance to
those affected by natural disasters, adding that in-kind donations are received
within a certain list, which changes pending demand.
The
aid includes family tents, generators, supplies for children and the elderly,
infant formula, parcels, foodstuffs, foldable beds, heaters, blankets,
mattresses and pillows, flashlights, winter clothes and footwear, mineral
water, medicines and medical supplies, sleeping bags, sanitary parcels, food
containers, respirators, first aid and recovery bags and rubble removal and
rescue equipment.
