Justice Minister receives US human rights delegation

Press Release — Minister of Justice Ahmad Ziadat met with the US Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Uzra Zeya, and the Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice, Desiree Cormier Smith, and an accompanying delegation on Tuesday, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Justice. اضافة اعلان

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to human rights, especially the achievements of the National Committee for the Prevention of Human Trafficking, which is chaired by the Minister of Justice, and efforts that have been made in the field, as well as future plans and projects that aim to provide response mechanisms to combat human trafficking.

Ziadat affirmed the depth of Jordanian-American relations based on mutual respect and cooperation in the interest of the two countries. He also stressed the importance of continuing joint cooperation in the legal field and expressed appreciation for the support provided by the US government and the US Agency for International Development.

For her part, Zeya highlighted the importance of the strategic relationship between the two countries, saying that the US highly values Jordan's role in the region. She also expressed the desire to enhance the existing cooperation between the two countries to strengthen the human rights system.

The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Justice for Judicial Affairs Judge Saad Al-Louzi, Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Raghad Al-Saqqa, and a number of directors at the Ministry of Justice.
