AMMAN — The
Income and Sales Tax Department has authorized taxpayers who could not submit tax returns for the fiscal year 2021 to submit their returns electronically until the end of Sunday, May 8, 2022, according to Al-Mamlaka.

Income tax, in a statement, that the Kingdom received a copy of, indicated that submitting an income tax return for 2021 until Sunday is considered within the legal period and does not entail any fines or additions; This is due to the coincidence of the last day in the legal period for submitting the declaration, an official holiday, and it is considered the first working day to complete the legal period according to the provisions of Article 75 of the
Income Tax Law No. 34 of 2014 and its amendments.
The department called on the taxpayers to submit
income tax returns and pay the tax declared electronically to avoid being exposed to the fines and additions stipulated by the law, which include an added tax for not submitting the tax return and a fine of 4 per thousand of the value of the tax amounts due for each week of delay or any part of it.
