AMMAN — The Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), with the support of USAID’s Business Growth Activity, is organizing the participation of 18 local industrial companies from several industrial sectors in the Gulf Industrial Fair (GIF), the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.اضافة اعلان

The fair is set to begin in Dubai on Tuesday.

Jordanian companies participating will include some working in Arab desserts, dates, chocolate, chips, nuts, Dead Sea products, and raw materials used in manufacturing chocolate, paper, plastic, and industrial machinery.

The three-day event will also include other exhibitions for private brands, foodstuffs, and raw manufacturing substances.

In a statement Saturday, JEA head, Ahmed Khudari, said GIF constitutes a "strong" opportunity for Jordanian industrial companies to promote their products and strike commercial partnerships.

The JEA, he noted, seeks to enable Jordanian companies to learn about the latest manufacturing technologies through their participation in the fair.

Stimulating Jordanian industrial exports, he said, is a "key enabling" factor for achieving Jordan's economic growth by increasing production and investment in the industrial sector, which contributes to providing more job opportunities and enhancing the Kingdom's foreign currency reserves.

By expanding programs to support participation in foreign exhibitions, which are viewed as global trade platforms and the "most effective" way to promote Jordanian industry, according to Khudari, Jordan can secure entry into new markets and maintain the momentum gained by local companies in export markets during the past years.

The Jordanian pavilion in the fair stands at 526sq.m., said JEA Director General Halim Abu Rahma.

USAID Business Growth Activity supported some start-ups and small and medium-sized companies that meet the conditions to obtain its assistance to participate in the fair.
