AMMAN — Finance Minister Mohammad
Al-Ississ, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh, and
Director General of the
Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) Hossam Abu Ali
announced on Tuesday the launch of the electronic national billing system,
according to Khaberni.

A press conference was held at the ISTD’s
headquarters on the occasion.
In a previous statement, Ississ had said that the
adoption of the electronic billing system by a number of priority sectors is
bound to improve the efficiency of tax collection, reduce bill manipulation,
and strengthen auditing tasks, particularly when it comes to the sales tax.
Ississ added that the national electronic billing
system will make it easier to get refunds and ensure fairer tax paying, in
general.
He said that the system will contribute to changing
the tax culture in Jordan and make it easier for the private sector to deal
with taxes.
The ISTD, he said, is working to help the government
honor its commitments.
Hanandeh said that the national electronic billing system is
important and necessary to managing issues related to taxes. He added that the
system will be applied to all taxpayers to help competitiveness and ensure fairness.
