As of the end of September, Subaihi said, assets
invested by the corporation’s investment fund had a value of JD13.568 billion.
The corporation’s assets are divided into
six main portfolios: a bonds portfolio representing 55.7 percen tof total
assets, a stocks portfolio (18.4 percent),a money market portfolio (13.3 percent),
a real estate portfolio (5.6 percent), a loan portfolio (3.4 percent), and a
tourism portfolio (2.3 percent).
As the corporation’s assets rise towards
the end of the year, the revenues of its investment fund are expected to reach
about JD580 million, achieving a nominal rate of return on investments of
approximately 4.5 percent.
This rate, Subaihi said, remains less than
half of that required by the institution’s actuarial studies, which require the
fund to reconsider its investment strategy by looking for new investment
portfolios, evaluating current portfolios, and reviewing their ratios and
ceilings to determine their effectiveness.
