The festival, which will launch under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah, will open with a musical celebration by Jordanian musician, composer, and arranger Tareq Al-Nasser, accompanied by dance performances by a group of Jordanian artists. The musical is inspired by Jordan’s history and heritage and reflects the cultural diversity of the Jordanian identity.

The festival’s executive director, Mazen Kawar, said that this year’s program includes 250 artistic, cultural, and craft activities, featuring 1,500 artists and performers from Jordan, the region, and the world. He added that there will be performances by 25 bands in the Oval Plaza-Main Square, which represents the “heart of the festival”.

Events in the Main Square will include a large variety of artistic programs designed in cooperation with the Jordanian Artists Association, where more than 500 Jordanian artists and craftspeople will take part, Kawar said. Furthermore, at least 80 local, Arab, and foreign artistic folk troupes will be taking part. Countries participating include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, the UAE, Egypt, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mexico, South Korea, India, and Sweden.

Kawar also revealed the names of the Arab singers who will be performing at the festival’s South Theater. They include: Lebanon’s Assi Al-Hallani, Egypt’s Tamer Hosny, Saudi Arabia’s Rabeh Sager, Lebanon’s Marwan Khoury, Iraq’s Mahmoud Al-Turky, Saudi Arabia’s Majid Al-Raslani, and Lebanon’s Ziad Bourji. Jordan’s Al-Jeel Club Group will also participate.

Those planning to attend the festival’s activities, Kawar said that shuttle buses will be running from the Seventh Circle and Abdali.
