Ayla Upgrades Golf Course Lighting to Energy-Efficient Units

Ayla Upgrades Golf Course Lighting to Energy-Efficient Units
In line with its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection, Ayla Oasis Development Company has recently completed the replacement of the lighting units at the Ayla Golf Course with energy-efficient alternatives.

Ayla has successfully reduced energy consumption for golf course lighting by 57%, replacing 49 high-pressure HID halogen lights (1,564 watts each) with modern LED units (670 watts each) that consume less power.

This achievement further strengthens Ayla’s commitment to environmental protection by reducing emissions, lowering costs, and conserving natural resources. It places Ayla among the leaders in reducing carbon footprints, with a range of innovative solutions, including the use of green energy, awareness campaigns, recycling programs, and eco-friendly practices across all its operations and services.

Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Development Company, emphasized that this step reflects the company’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability and resource conservation. It aligns with Ayla’s strategic vision to be a global leader in sustainable urban and tourism projects, using advanced, smart, and eco-friendly technologies that reduce emissions, lower costs, and promote a healthy lifestyle for both residents and visitors.
Dudin added that Ayla will continue to focus on maximizing energy efficiency, ensuring infrastructure sustainability, and protecting resources to maintain its leadership in urban and tourism innovation, all while aligning with national environmental goals.

The adoption of LED lighting has rapidly expanded worldwide, replacing traditional high-pressure sodium lamps. This transition has greatly improved energy efficiency, reduced operational costs, and offered longer lifespans and lower environmental impact. LED lighting outperforms traditional systems, making it the optimal choice for buildings and institutions seeking to reduce their carbon footprint.

Musco Lighting, a global leader in innovative lighting solutions since 1976, supplied the lighting systems at Ayla Golf Course. In 2012, Musco installed the original lighting system, making Ayla one of the first golf courses in the region to offer a world-class night golfing experience.

After more than a decade of reliable performance, Musco has upgraded the system with its latest solutions, including the QuickFit™️ 700W system, which features easy installation, allowing for seamless upgrades without significant changes to the existing infrastructure.

The new system improves energy efficiency, reduces electricity consumption, and enhances environmental sustainability. Musco’s QuickFit™️ technology also ensures optimal light distribution while minimizing glare and light pollution.
Thanks to this upgrade, Ayla Golf Course continues to offer an exceptional night golfing experience, powered by Musco’s leading solutions, which combine high performance with environmental responsibility.
Ayla Golf Club also recently won four prestigious awards for sustainability at the Sustainable Luxury Awards 2024, further solidifying its position as a leader in integrating development with environmental conservation. The awards included, Most Sustainable 18-Hole Golf Course in the region, Most Sustainable Desert Golf Course worldwide, Most Sustainable Mountain Golf Course locally, and Most Sustainable Championship Golf Course in the Middle East.

Ayla Golf Course embodies Ayla’s sustainable vision as Jordan’s first championship golf course, featuring 18 holes and a golf academy with a 9-hole course designed by the world-renowned Greg Norman. Spanning 800,000 square meters, the course includes undulating fairways interspersed with lakes, elevation changes, and a variety of hole placements, all while highlighting and enhancing the natural surroundings.
