AMMAN — The current weather
depression affecting the Kingdom is predicted to intensify overnight, with 12
continuous hours of heavy downpours and snow showers starting Tuesday at dawn in
the northern and central regions, according Arabia Weather.

Arabia Weather Director Mohammad Al-Shaker
told a local news outlet on Monday that a
cold front is predicted to pass
through the north of the Kingdom in the afternoon hours to reach central
Jordan, with
irregular snowfall in the Sharah Mountains in the south.
Shaker said parts of the Kingdom are likely
to witness flooding and water accumulation on Tuesday as rainfall intensifies.
Wind speeds are also expected to exceed 100
km/h within cities today and tomorrow.
The
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM)
declared a state of extreme emergency, starting this morning to deal with the
heavy rain and strong winds, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
GAM Spokesperson Naser Rahamneh stressed
that the municipality is fully prepared to deal with the weather conditions
round-the-clock, urging the public to exercise caution and to contact the
unified hotlines 102 and 117180 in case of weather-related emergencies.
