Affairs and Expatriates has condemned
Israeli occupation authorities'
demolition of a number of Palestinian homes in occupied East Jerusalem, which
has caused the displacement of their residents, the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry
warned against expelling Palestinians in the Khan Al-Ahmar area, as the
displacement of residents from their homes represents “a flagrant violation of
international humanitarian law and relevant international legitimacy
resolutions”.
The ministry also condemned ongoing attacks
targeting the Christian presence in Jerusalem, the latest being an attack on
Thursday by
Israeli settlers on the Church of the Condemnation in Jerusalem's
Old City.
The displacement of residents from their homes represents “a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions”.
In addition, the ministry stressed the need
to halt all unilateral measures that undermine the two-state solution and
perpetuate
Israel's occupation.
To end the cycle of violence, the ministry
said, the “dangerous corrosion in the Palestinian Territories that perpetuates
despair and fuels extremism” must be stopped through joint efforts to restore
confidence in a feasible peace process.
This can be accomplished by resuming
"serious and effective" negotiations to achieve a just and
comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which ensures peace for
all parties through establishing an independent and sovereign state for the
Palestinians along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East
Jerusalem as its capital,
the ministry said.
