Jordan's population surpasses 11.3 million

AMMAN — The Department of Statistics has reported that the population of Jordan has exceeded 11.3 million as of Wednesday noon, local media outlets reported. The figure marks a significant increase in Jordan's population, according to statements by Higher Population Council Secretary-General Issa Masarweh. In 2004, Jordan's population was around 5 million, which increased to about 9.5 million in 2015, and this year it has reached 11.3 million, he said.
