During the inauguration, Shboul spoke of His Majesty King Abdullah's firm support for the Palestinian cause, and his directives to successive governments to support Palestinians in all situations as a Jordanian national strategy.

The opening of the authority's new office in Amman represents an "important and essential" achievement, conveying “a voice of justice for the most oppressed cause in the world”, he said.

Shboul also highlighted the role modern media plays in informing the world about the Palestinian issue.

Affirming the government's readiness to provide support to the Palestinian TV authority, Shboul emphasized the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites.

A new conduit for Palestine’s message
The authority's director, Amin Shahrour, said the inauguration of the new headquarters in Amman “helps deliver the message of Palestine to the entire world”.

The inauguration reflects the "close" Jordanian-Palestinian relations and the "deep-rooted" partnership between the two countries' media, Shahrour added.

The authority, he said, is also keen to provide any needed equipment and capabilities to help Amman media crews to carry out their tasks.

The Palestinian Public Authority for Radio and Television has other branches in Beirut, Tunis, Cairo, and Damascus, and dozens of correspondents around the world.
