AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation said
that the recent downpour has channeled Jordan's dams with 2,642 million cubic
meters during the 24 hours between Friday and Saturday, the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.

The ministry, in a
statement on Saturday, noted that the
Mujib Dam received the highest quantity, at 2 million cubic meters, raising the
total storage in Jordan's dams to 36.8mcm, or 13.13 percent of their total
capacity of 280.760 mcm.
To date, the precipitation volume recorded since the beginning of the
rainy season rose to about 1,510 billion cubic meters, or 18.4 percent of Jordan’s
long-term annual average rainfall of 8.1 billion cubic meters, the ministry
said.
The ministry’s
figures showed that the Qutraneh area witnessed the highest
amount of precipitation during the recent depression at 18.5 millimeters of rain.
