AMMAN — The Ministry of Justice and
the Jordan Bar Association have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to
provide legal aid for victims of
human trafficking.

The agreement was signed by
Secretary-General for Judicial Affairs Saed Al-Louzi and Bar Association
president Yahya Abu Aboud. Louzi was deputizing for Minister of Justice Ahmed
Ziadat, who also serves as president of the National Committee for the
Prevention of
Human Trafficking.
The memorandum seeks to ensure that victims
of human trafficking can obtain legal advice and representation through
institutionalizing legal aid services, Lawzi said.
According to Abu Aboud, the MoU establishes
the roles of the
Ministry of Justice and the Bar Association in guaranteeing
access to justice, in according with the standard operating procedures for
human trafficking cases.
