AMMAN — The
Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Thursday announced a recall of specific batches of
Diprofos injections, which are used to alleviate symptoms of asthma and
allergies, after the manufacturer made remarks on the quality of those unique
batches.

The recall is precautionary and will be
conducted in coordination with the manufacturing company and its agent in
Jordan, the
JFDA said, expressing reassurance to the public regarding the
effectiveness and safety of the product, which is imported to the local market,
in batches that are not affected, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The administration also noted that no
reports have been made regarding any negative side effects from
Diprofos.
According to
JFDA Director-General Nizar
Mheidat, the recall includes batches bearing the serial numbers W037168,
W037404, W030686, W032602, W030457, W025759, W004660, U039526, U037740,
U039364, U039650, and U028276.
Mheidat also affirmed that medicines
imported to the Kingdom are tested by the JFDA before being distributed in the
local market.
