Arabia Weather Director Mohammad Al-Shaker told a local news outlet on Monday that a cold front is predicted to pass through the north of the Kingdom in the afternoon hours to reach central Jordan, with irregular snowfall in the Sharah Mountains in the south.

Shaker said parts of the Kingdom are likely to witness flooding and water accumulation on Tuesday as rainfall intensifies.

Wind speeds are also expected to exceed 100 km/h within cities today and tomorrow.

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) declared a state of extreme emergency, starting this morning to deal with the heavy rain and strong winds, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

GAM Spokesperson Naser Rahamneh stressed that the municipality is fully prepared to deal with the weather conditions round-the-clock, urging the public to exercise caution and to contact the unified hotlines 102 and 117180 in case of weather-related emergencies.
