AMMAN —
Anti-Narcotics Department (AND)
personnel arrested five drug dealers and seized large quantities of drugs in
various parts of the country, the Public Security Directorate's media spokesman
said on Tuesday.

In one of the three operations in
Amman,
18,000 narcotic pills were seized, and a dealer was arrested in a house
located in the eastern part of the capital. Two other dealers were apprehended
in separate incidents, with 6,000 pills and other narcotics, along with a
firearm found in their possession.
A fourth man was arrested with 15
sheets of hashish and 2,000 narcotic pills found in his home.
Aqaba arrestThe department also carried out a
successful operation in Aqaba, where agents arrested a local dealer, who was
supplying drugs to the area. The raid on the dealer's house resulted in the
seizure of 700 grams of cocaine, 10,000 narcotic pills, 1kg of hashish, and a
firearm.
In another operation, AND agents thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills, which were
hidden inside a vehicle in Ramtha, into a neighboring country.
The drugs were found during a search
of the vehicle, and a man was arrested.
