AMMAN —
Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) on Thursday resumed its regular direct air service to the Algerian
capital, with two flights per week to Algiers Houari Boumediene Airport, the
Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In a statement, RJ said it will operate two
flights per week between Amman and Algiers via
Airbus A320 aircraft, on Mondays
and Thursdays.
Travelers in Algeria can book their flights
by contacting the call center 065100000 or through the RJ website
www.rj.com,
sales offices, or authorized travel agencies, the statement added.
Serving expats, students, touristsCommenting on the step,
RJ CEO Samer Majali said the new destination would serve the Jordanian and Arab communities
residing in Algeria, as well as Algerians, students, and businesspeople. The
step is also expected to enhance trade exchange.
Majali expressed optimism that Algeria
would constitute an added-value destination to the national carrier by meeting
traveler needs and desires and supporting joint efforts to increase number of
tourists by providing "distinguished" services and travel experience
with RJ.
New horizonsRJ said the resumption of its Algeria route
comes with its commercial strategy to expand its flight network and increase
and open promising markets that will fit with the carrier's network and air
fleet.
The announcement to operate regular flights
between the two capitals was made during the recent ministerial meetings of the
Algerian-Jordanian Joint Committee in Algeria, held late last month.
