AMMAN —
Royal Jordanian (RJ) Airlines has announced the
launch of new air routes in 2023, as part of the company's commercial strategy
to expand its network and enhance air transport between Jordan and the world.

The new destinations include Düsseldorf in Germany,
Stockholm in Sweden, Manama in Bahrain, and AlUla in Saudi Arabia, according to
local media outlets.
New and resuming flightsAdditionally, RJ plans to resume its direct flights to the
Algerian capital starting March 16, as well as operate scheduled flights to
Sharm El-Sheikh, Antalya, and Trabzon from the beginning of April.
Starting from September 23, direct flights to Düsseldorf in
Germany will be launched with two weekly flights. On May 29, Royal Jordanian
Airlines will start operating a new route between Amman and Stockholm.
Manama in Bahrain will be back on the Royal Jordanian
Airlines' map again in the middle of this year, when the company will operate
direct flights between Amman and Manama in Bahrain after suspending flights to
the city in 2004.
By the third quarter of 2023, Royal Jordanian Airlines will
operate its first-ever scheduled flight between Amman and Al-Ula International
Airport, with two weekly flights in collaboration with the Petra Development
and Tourism Authority and the Royal Commission for Al-Ula.
Larger networkVice chairman and CEO of RJ, Samer Majali, said that adding
new destinations to the airline's network will make it more vibrant and
sustainable, supporting the company's rapid expansion strategy to lift the
company out of years of recession caused by regional conditions and the
coronavirus crisis.
Majali added that
RJ aims to build one of the largest networks in the region and to remain the leading airline in the Levant region.
Furthermore, the airline plans to increase its fleet size from
24 aircraft to more than 40 aircraft over the next three to five years to keep
up with growth and development, supporting national efforts to promote Jordan
as a tourist destination and connecting Amman to these major stations by
providing many travel options for passengers and building a robust regional
airline network through the capital Amman.
