AMMAN — Factories registered with
the
Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) increased their exports by 43 percent in
2022 to reach a value of JD7.577 billion, compared to JD5.296 billion in 2021,
according to a report released by the chamber on Monday.

The exports of the Kingdom’s mining
industries increased by 89 percent last year over 2021 figures, to reach JD2.6
billion, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the exports of the chemical and
cosmetic industries reached JD1.4 billion — a 28 percent year-on-year increase
— while engineering industries exports increased by 48 percent to reach JD909
million. Leather and knitting industry exports grew by 4 percent.
Over half of exports by factories
registered with the
ACI went to India, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, at a
value of JD3.936 billion. Exports to Arab countries constituted 40.3 percent of
total exports, with a value of JD3.1 billion, registering a 32.7 percent growth
compared to 2021.
