SSC adjusts minimum wage to JD271

AMMAN — Those making minimum wage in Jordan will see an increase in their pay in 2023. The Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced Monday that the minimum wage will be increased to JD271 from JD260, according to local media outlets. اضافة اعلان

This move follows a decision issued by the Tripartite Commission for Labor Affairs to index the statutory minimum wage to inflation and increase the minimum wage for the years 2023–2025.

Minimum wage will be adjusted based on the interest rate issued by official authorities, provided that it is calculated for each year according to the 11 months prior.

In a press statement, the SSC explained that the current minimum wage will be adjusted based on the inflation rate for the first 11 months of 2022, which amounted to 4.22 percent.

The SSC also stressed that anyone who is over 16 and subject to the Social Security Law regardless of nationality, and regardless of the duration or form of the contract.
